Biography



Tom Kahn was born in 1966 in Germany. His father was a fighter pilot of the German airforce who later became an airlinie manager. His mother was a jounalist who became a head hunter and has a hr-agency.

After his basic military service with the airforce Kahn lived half a year in the Caribbean. He studied economics and political sciences in Strasbourg and Frankfurt with a focus on international relations. His studies included ethnology, history and psychoanalysis. He wrote his thesis for the masters degree on the Dalai Lama in 1994.

After working for three years in consultancy and industry he began his bohemien life wich included jobs as a waitor, barkeeper, cook, night assistant with an investment bank, moderator and tour guide.

Tom Kahn is married to a Russian journalist, has a three year old son and lives in Frankfurt and Moscow.

The author speaks English and French fluently.

The Tibet Project is his first novel.
